It refers to a person’s emotions in the context of anxiety disorder, which they experience when feeling fear, uneasiness, or responding to uncertainty and stress, resulting in sweating, feeling restless, tense, and having a rapid heartbeat. Examples: sitting in an interview, decision-making, etc.

It can affect any age group, according to the APA, which said that women are more prone to experience anxiety as compared to men. If a person feels extreme anxiety and tends to last for a minimum of 6 months which somewhere affects a person’s life.

    • Brain change: amygdala is a part of our brain that plays a vital role in a person’s life for managing fear and anxiety. According to studies people having anxiety can do activities to increase amygdala activity which will help them to cure anxiety.

    • Genes: Anxiety tends to run biologically. This shows that genetics might play a part. people can increase the risk of developing it if someone is a relative (it can be a biological parent or sibling).

    • Environmental factors: stress over a long period can be responsible for anxiety disorder in a person.
